Science Progression K–ToS
From observing a hermit crab to understanding hurricane systems — see exactly how scientific knowledge and enquiry skills develop across every year of BVI primary school.
Science rooted in the BVI natural world
BrightPath's Science strand follows the BVI/OECS curriculum framework, using the islands' extraordinary ecosystems — coral reefs, mangroves, Sage Mountain cloud forest, and the surrounding Caribbean Sea — as the living laboratory for every concept. Children develop both knowledge and the habits of a scientist.

Ages 5–6
Children explore the natural world through beach walks, garden observations, and stories about BVI animals like pelicans, iguanas, and sea turtles.
Science topics
Ages 6–7
Investigations use BVI beach and garden environments — sorting shells, observing rock pools, and growing local vegetables.
Science topics
Ages 7–8
Science investigations explore BVI marine life, coral reef ecosystems, and the water cycle as experienced on a tropical island.
Science topics
Ages 8–9
Investigations extend to Sage Mountain National Park, BVI soil types, and the impact of tropical weather on the natural environment.
Science topics
Ages 9–10
Science extends to BVI weather systems, hurricane science, human body systems, and the environmental impact of tourism and development.
Science topics
Ages 10–11
Extended investigations cover BVI biodiversity, the solar system, genetics, and the science of sustainable development in a small island state.
Science topics
Ages 11–12
Exam preparation covers the full BVI/OECS Science syllabus with past-paper practice, structured revision, and applied science questions set in Caribbean contexts.
